Welcome

On behalf of the City of Glasgow, I warmly welcome you to Winterfest Glasgow 2008.  This year's programme will once again present a series of exceptional winter events for you, your friends and family confirming Glasgow as the ultimate festive destination.

Winterfest Glasgow gets off to an illuminating start with the hugely popular switch-on of the Christmas Lights.  For those with a bit more energy, you can skate and slide your way into Christmas with Glasgow on Ice, enjoy a traditional outdoor ceilidh as part of Shindig and welcome in 2009 with friends old and new at Glasgow's Hogmanay.  Add to this a fantastic series of themed evenings and weekends on The Big Stage including music, film and comedy and you really need look no further than George Square this Christmas.

Glasgow is renowned for its warm welcome and world class visitor attractions so please do enjoy everything this wonderful city has to offer.
