Ticketholder information

We want to make sure you have a fantastic time at Glasgow's Hogmanay 2009 so please read the information below which tells you all you need to know about the big night plus details on transport in and out of Glasgow, entrances and safety information.

Bars & alcohol licensing

Glasgow's Hogmanay is undoubtedly the best way to bring in the bells and this year, it will be safer than ever before. We're committed to working with our partners to ensure that everyone has a great time, under the safest conditions.

Revellers will be able to buy drinks to toast 2010 from partner bars in and around George Square, which brings us into line with other festivities in the city.

Ticket holders will not be permitted to bring alcohol in to the venue and there will be no decanting at entrances to the venue.

Strathclyde Police is happy to support Culture and Sport Glasgow regarding the change to conditions of entry to the Hogmanay event at George Square which continues our partnership approach to responsible licensing and sensible consumption of alcohol in the city centre of Glasgow.

Drinks can be purchased from one or our three bar partners listed below as well as additional outdoor bars within the venue:

- Georgics Bar (Millennium Hotel)
- The Piper (corner of George Square and Cochrane Street)
- Europa (corner of George Square and West George Street)

Drinks will be priced at £3.00 per alcoholic drink and £1.50 per soft drink.
